East Java's Digital Growth and What Connectivity Providers Must Deliver
JULY 7, 2024

East Java's demand is not a smaller version of Jakarta's. A hotel in Malang, a factory site, and an office in Surabaya each expect the connection to stay up during their own busy hours. Tourism adds guest Wi-Fi and IPTV. Manufacturing adds VPN back to a head office and sometimes a private cloud or a data-center workload. Offices add dedicated internet and SD-WAN across branches.
IDEANET's answer is the same portfolio, delivered from a Surabaya base. Dedicated internet, broadband, IP transit, L2/L3 VPN, and wireless or terrestrial access where fiber is not the right last mile. Managed Wi-Fi and professional services cover the build and the run. The Surabaya office is at Jl. Opak No. 32, Darmo, Wonokromo. The network operations desk for the region sits with that presence, so a fault does not have to be explained twice to a team that has never seen the building.
The national network behind those sites uses multiple upstreams, direct peering, and a local cache, with core capacity on 10G to 100G pipes. That is the shared infrastructure. It does not mean every East Java address is on-net. Coverage is more than 40 cities. A specific industrial estate or hotel still needs a survey.
What customers in the region should ask for is ordinary and specific: the access type, a second path if the site cannot stop, Wi-Fi designed for the busy hour if guests or staff are dense, and a statement of work that names the Surabaya desk if they want local handling. Price and any response target are quoted for that site.
